IMPORTANT & FUN CONFERENCE INFO FROM NANCY RAIA

Students from Lynda Williams Fairhope High School Art Club painted umbrellas at the Eastern Shore Art Center in preparation for the AAEA Conference.

Teachers are all being asked to create decorated umbrellas that show their artistic flair, and their commitment to their chosen profession. We are going to have a parade on Friday afternoon, leading out onto the Fairhope Pier, as a form of arts advocacy. Nancy Raia asks you to think of our theme “The Arts Have you Covered!” for this umbrella show of our visual goals, passion, and mission! Words that pop out your artist statement, visuals that tempt the viewers, colors that scream joyful expression… Let it out!

We have cameras coming to cover this event, so get to work on your umbrellas now, or ask your students to make some extras for those teachers showing up without their assignment!
