Summer is finally here and we are celebrating with another monthly AAEA Member Spotlight, our new regular feature that shines a light on our diverse membership of exemplary art educators. Jill Ritchey is the current National Art Honor Society Chair for the Alabama Art Education Association and the 2013 Alabama Secondary Art Teacher of the Year.  Read all about her travels with the NAEA in India and the awesome work going on in her art classroom here!

The presenter form is available here and at the back of the AAEA “Perspectives” newsletter. Conference organizers, Connie Deal and BeeLee Tullos, are requesting all forms be sent by July 31 so they can start to assemble the schedule for these workshops. We look forward to seeing all of you in the fall!

 We are also super excited about our 2014 conference keynote speaker, Ms. Jessica Balsley, founder of The Art of Education Over 1,300 art teachers attended the last AOE Online Conference. The Summer 2014 AOE Online Conference takes place July 17th, 2014 and it promises to be an exciting non-traditional professional development experience for art educators. Register for July’s Art of Ed Summer Conference event here!
